Hmmm...

'59 Fender telecaster (botswana brown):
first appeared on stage in 1977. Nicknamed "The Brown Bomber". Used on Hot Dog and All My Love during the final tour.
It is actually the body of a '59 Telecaster with the neck of his '58 Telecaster, which was ruined by a "friend" who repainted it (without asking Page). -Thanks to Chef Zeppelin for the info!

Quote:
"I still have it (referring to the Dragon Tele), but it’s a tragic story. I went on tour with the ’59 Les Paul that I bought from Joe Walsh, and when I got back, a friend of mine had kindly painted over my paint job. He said, "I’ve got a present for you.” He thought he had done me a real favor. As you can guess, I wasn't real happy about that. His paint job totally screwed up the sound and the wiring, so only the neck pickup worked. I salvaged the neck and put it on my brown Tele string bender that I used in the Firm. As for the body… it will never be seen again! (laughs)"
Fireplace i am guessing, and not as a mantle either. ;)

OT:

Thats a great read! Love the pics...A few observations, the superbeatle amp he used that has the MRB where I've read that he used a rangemaster maybe nobody used a rangemaster including Clapton even. I read somewhere the Brown Bomber body is 1 piece ash custom made, and finally Page seems to like to do some odd layering his clothes

I can't find anything on this Baja-sexto from the back of Coverdale/Page album:

no, I've known for years, and in the era before the intenet it was common knowledge he used a tele with The Yardbirds, Joe Cocker and on the first zep record, and even part of the 2nd until he aquired his first LP...a custom 3 pickup '60. When that was stolen he got the legendary Std from Joe Walsh.
