My LPB Esquire
![]() This is an unfinished picture but she's all done now. Has a Lil' 59. I'm learning to do the set up on the 3 saddle bridge ( compensated saddles ). I need a good tuner... |

My third & likely final contribution (one each year!) to this amazing thread.
![]() This one's another Creston toploader, but more traditional than my P90/mahogany Creston. Between this guitar, my other 2 Esquires & a Tele, I haven't had GAS in over a year. |

Tell me more!
Wow, this is what I had in mind to build. Can you fill in the blanks, very cool.

Holy Moley! This thread started 6 months after I joined the TDPRI looking to build/buy a Telecaster. This thread got me started thinking Esquire instead of Tele, and I have built a partsquire, re-bodied it, and swapped/re-swapped the pickup without ever posting here. Time to fix that. As it sits now, it's a GFS "Warm Butterscotch" Ash body (probably 5 pieces, claimed body weight: 5-5 1/2 lbs.) with a lefty large headstock Strat neck, Sperzel tuners, Wilkinson bridge, GFS 7K Fatbody pickup, wired with vol and tone only. It's the only guitar where I made the nut and did the setup myself, so it's not perfect, but I can't keep my hands off it.

![]() Heavily modified 2005 MIM Classic Series Fender Esquire. Since this picture was taken in April 2010, I’ve changed the pickup to a Rumpelstiltskin 1950 Black-rope wound at 11 K and, using another custom control plate from Guitarfetish.com (actually their eBay store), I took out the tone control. So now the Esquire only has a single volume knob. Sounds great! The Bigsby B5 was modified to the boards.ie specs. Fender DRRI in the background. |
