I thought there was already an "Esquire" thread? Oh, well. Who am I to complain? I LOVE EM'!!!!

Squier Esquire, my first. No longer have this one.

Fender Esquire Partscaster, my second. Looked great, had a lot of fun putting it together, but I just didn't like the way it played. Parted it out.

Fender 50s Classic Esquire - The best guitar I've ever owned! Nocaster pup, and "bassy" position is wired w/o the cap and resistor. AWESOME!

Here it is in action.

I'm not too proud of it.

Jaydog, what did you use to tint that neck? Im thinking of doing something like that. So far I've heard use stew mac amber dye and a little brown dye.

Fisheric, I just used some stew-mac dye in alcohol on the raw wood. Then tinted the first coat of lacquer with a little amber. Two more coats of clear and that's it. I wanted a really thin finish.

The color came out a little darker than I had intended. I should have used a little less stain on the neck. This one came out a lot closer to what I was shooting for with the one from the pics above.

Here is the rest of the guitar. Its going to be an esquire as well.

My current esquire. Homemade bassewood body & pearl pickguard. Champaigne pink sparkles, shot with Deft through a Preval. Tonerider pickup with a simplified esquire wiring scheme with a .01 cap for the "cocked wah" sound in the fixed bass position.
