Different Colors You Think Would Look Good in a Burst

Ok,we all have seen the regular bursts,tobacco,honey,2 and 3 colors
What are some different colors you think would make a cool burst??
If you have something different, pictures would be nice

Surf green and shell pink for two. There's a surf/mint burst Koll floating around somewhere on TGP that's simply gorgeous. Let me go dig around and if I can find it, I'll post it.

Get all your paints out ---> RAINBOW BURST

(the amazing technicolor dreamcaster)

+++

Seriously, though, how about some color that leads into a very bleached out center. Almost any light pastel color might look good doing that.

+++

Hey Marty, I loved your other thread about "the gift." Two years back I made an amplifier for my 75-year-old father-in-law. I'm not as altruistic, though, his kids helped pay for the parts (that stuff can get expensive). Here's how it came out: HNB Amp ...when I was reading your posts, I remembered something. Each and every hour that I worked on that amp, I thought about my father-in-law. Since he is such a great guy, it made for a nice reflective meditation. Did you think about Clif the whole time you worked on that guitar, or were you looking at the clock?!

It was actually both,Clif and the clock, because I had such a short time frame to do it in.I know one thing,I will never forget the look on his face or the entire evening for that matter. It was great!!

As for the burst,my wife figured purple
We will see.
I will snap a couple pics of what it is going to go on and why I am thinking burst

Find a couple of complementary colors.

Put the dark on the outside.

You'll be in business in no time.

Like, for instance, if you were a Milwaukee Brewers fan, gold to blue might look pretty good to you.

Pittsburgh Pirate fans might enjoy gold to black.

Kids in the southwest, that follow the El Paso Dust Devils of the Southwestern North American Soccer League might get a charge out of light brown to dark brown.

Light to dark.

The colors of your choice.

You can't go wrong.

Well here is the candidate
I got a basswood short at the local woodshop the other day
8" wide and 40" long,$5
Last night I planed it down and found one end twisted. What can I expect for $5.So I had to split the one end in two to get rid of the twist and go with a 3 piece blank.I glued it up last night
This is the first time I have worked with basswood
It is nice to work with but man is this stuff fugly so I decided to cap it,front and back
I got some maple sets from a guy that he called low figure so I decided to use a couple.Pretty nice stuff for low figure

Now here is the reason for the burst.I noticed when I planed the one board had a small hole in it.After after routing I found this

Seems a critter was in there at one time.Right now it is filled with good old bondo so it will need to be covered

Maybe Jack Wells will be kind enough to post up a pic of his "RickenTele". Now THAT is a classy looking guitar...

It's SCREAMING for Violin Sunburst like this,
Show the edges as natural binding.

i am currently working on a maple drop top on mahogany.
i staing the whole body red, with the exception of the maple faux binding, then hit it with a "extra dark walnut" laquer, it seems to look good.
i wanted to try a burst and a friend wanted a blood red guitar, but i didn't want to use black for the outside cuz i always find it to strong, so i decided i'd give a brown a shot. i like it alot it seems alot more subtle.
i'll post pics of it when 'm done in a new thread.

This guitar should be made for the TDPRI Giveaway as the Booby prize!

Someone with a soft spot to late eighties may like this, but I think this is just plain wrong. Green, yellow, binding, flame, gold plated hardware, no pick guard...

This one looks like a pool in summer. I'd be worried it might get damaged by someone trying to dive right in.

I quite like this, but it's pretty loud.

After checking the Warmuff showcase for hints I've decided that I'm boring when it comes to bursts.

This blue-burst, like the guy from Explosions in the Sky has (Ibanez Talman).

Other than that I like the more traditionals, honey-burst, tobacco-burst, cherry-burst, violin-burst.
