Opinions Please-What Configuration?

I had these two ash cutoffs that I have been kicking around my shop for a couple months. They didn't match that well but last night I decided to glue them up,and decided to cap them with something.I was going to do a maple cap, then remembered some lacewood I got cheap because it had a big crack in it.I managed to get 2 sets from it so I decided to use one on here
I did some mild chambering to bring down the weight a bit,cut in an f-hole and glued it up.
Turned out pretty good.Just not to sure what to route it for?
Should I leave the ash natural or stain it to match up better with the lacewood
You guys are always good for lots of suggestions so lets hear them

I would say maple neck, three single coils, white pearloid pickguard. But I would definitely leave the body just like it is, gorgeous.

Nice Ron, keep us posted with that one... reminds me of Little Charlie Baty's touring tele/ES5 hybrid.

Marty, I'm leaning towards P90s, no guard

Marty,
I don't know what you should do with that? How about throwing in some Fender stock or Seymour Duncan Jazzmaster pickups? That different enough for ya?

P-90s and no pickguard. That's some beautiful wood.

Or maybe an Esquire. I found another one of those Chandler pickups I sent you in my spares drawer.

Marty, I would route it for a PAF with nickle cover in the neck, traditional bridge with 3 brass saddles, leave the body natural, it's beautiful!

Marty: I haven't seen you do a neck PAF only, no bridge pup at all. Dead minimum controls; move them out of the usual way.

BTW, have you stained that lacewood? That's very dark indeed; I'd be tempted to stain the ash to match and that will obscure the ash grain mismatch.

You guys make me sick with all your posts about sanding and routing and painting a cutting and creative ideas and so on. One of these days I'll get my shop put back together and show you what for.

Signed,

No it is not stained,it was just wiped with some mineral spirits to get the sanding dust off. That would be pretty close to the color if I were to just clear it as it is.
Hmmm,neck PAF........

If you're going that direction might as well put an acoustic bridge or trapeze tailpiece.

A Charlie Christain in the neck and a P-90 in the bridge--the tal farlowcaster.

I've finished Rewarewa (a NZ wood with similar ray-figure on quarter) and it's the same as you would do for ash. Silky Oak is the same - probably need a quick squeegee with a clear filler before lacquer/poly.

Configuration? My vote goes with something different. What about a nylon string with piezo and preamp .

This makes me think of those terraced Indo-China rice paddies:

I vote for a mini bucker in the neck, maple neck and not staining the ash. I like the contrast between the front and the back.

My vote is also for P90's and leave it natural. Gotta hand it to you, everything you do is unique (and gorgeous). So whatever you decide, I can't wait to see the finished goods.

To give you some ideas, I'm gonna show you a pic of my own Thinline with a similar color scheme (swamp ash back, rosewood top) - I'm about to route it for a CC-pickup from VVG in the next couple of days...
