Hot Tele Picker in the Seattle Area...

Last night my band had the pleasure of opening for a band called The Swains. Their lead guitarist was excellent! He could play the b-bender like no one's business. Excellent phrasing and timing. He worked really well with the pedal steel player who was no slouch...
He also plays in another local band Jerry and The Philbillies. If you are ever in Seattle, check him out. He is quite an excellent picker!
Between sets we talked and I told him about the TDPRI, I hope he checks it out as he is the best B-bender player that I have heard in these parts.

hot seattle tele picker

I thought you were talking about me for a second then I realised you said "hot" not "hack" tele picker. At any rate my hackness will be on display tonight at the Tractor Tavern celebrating the release of Blue Spark's new CD of which I'm the lead/hack Tele player.Oooops... how did that shameless plug slip in there?

I was lucky enough to see Brian and company when they appeared up here in the vast wasteland known as Whatcom County. Grant, you could be talking about Brian! Very tasteful playing, and very cool gear, too. A great band. So, Brian, how do we go about getting a copy of the new CD that you will be celebrating the release of tonight at the Tractor Tavern, 5213 Ballard Ave. NW, Seattle, WA, 98107 (206-789-3599)? Not a plug, no affiliation, no money changing hands...;}

Thanks for the tip on The Swains. Grant, I'm going to try to make it your gig on May 16- is that still on? Even more hot Seattle Tele picking, I bet!

See you guys on Sunday!

Blue Spark CD's

Hey Randy at this point you can only get them here in Seattle at Sonic Boom, Easy Street or Tower(Mercer) Records or from the web site which hopefully I've included a link. I'll see you at the guitar show most likely. Thanks for the plug and kind words.

Thanks!

Randy, the Rendezvous gig is on, and I'll put you on the guest list...
Thanks for the Kudos, Sean.
BTW, Phil Smith is the name of the Tele picker in the Swains.

Yep, Phil is the real deal and a real nice guy, too. The Swains sound better each time I hear them. They've been doing a bunch of Thursdays at the Red Hen.

I caught Blue Spark last night, and they sounded great. Excellent balance, cool tunes, and wicked pickin' from Mr. Brian Kenny. (of what hackness doth thou speak???) Yer Tele sounded rightetous! Lots of nice tonal variations. How do you like that Gainster pedal?

later,
Dave Patterson

Clark Gainster

I will have to check out the Swains.

Hey Dave good to see you the other night. About the Gainster... i love it. It's the only OD/dist pedal I've used that really sounds like it's part of your amp circuit. I can leave it on and it doesn't bother me. Not a high gain type pedal, just sounds like you turned your amp up. The only problem now is all other pedals don't quite cut it so the search continues. I may have to break down and get a Klon.
Looking forward to see you with Cristy McWilson soon. Alert me at your next gig.
