There's a Tele on craigslist described as a MIM Telecaster Deluxe. I've never heard of this model. Was there such a thing or is this a modified something else? (Pics attached.)

Nope. Terrible pictures, but I'd say that's a '94-'95 Made in Mexico Telecaster Special. Exactly like one I used to have. See pic attached... Fine guitars and rather sought after too... What's the asking price...? If it's a decent price and it's in decent condition I'd say you should buy it...

I love this forum - I'll never have another unanswered tele question again.
Yeah, I'll have a chance to try it before buying. Does anyone know when this model was made (years of production)? What are the specs on this model? Apparently this comes with a 5-way switch? What are the positions? Is this a typical MIM std neck? |

5 way indeed, I can't remember for sure but I believe the it is wired 1-Bridge, 2-Bridge/neck (split), 3-Bridge/neck (full humbucking), 4-Neck (split), and 5-Neck (humbucking). The neck is not a typical MIM standard. It is my favorite part. It doesn't seem to be too thin or too thick and it has a slightly tinted satin finish with the large silver spaghetti logo in the early '50s location. Just looks much better than an MIM standard in my opinion.
