Let's See Your ACTUAL Road-Worn Teles

Someone started a thread about the first ding in their guitar recently and it got me to thinking...Let's see your Teles that YOU have put the wear to by simply playing the crap out of them. No relics or intentional wear and nothing that you bought with a bunch of wear already on it...

this is my 1 year old texas HW1. it's actually got a lot of wear, but the camera doesn't get it. all you can really see is the arm wear, that big gash under the control panel, and some little nicks, scuffs. it looks like a relic in real life.

But I don't beat up my gigging guitars. I don't beat up any of my equipment. No matter how much I play my guitars, they still look pretty new. That's why I have a relic. It would never look that way on it's own!

You're going to have to post this thread again in 2025. I might have something to show then!

There are now ELEVEN of these "Show us your....(whatever)..." threads on the first four pages of the forum! Next week, I'll be starting a "Show us your wives/girlfriends" thread over on the Bad Dog, followed by "Show us your office chairs....."...

I'm not sure that there are many folks here who play anything that beaten up that would merit a photo gallery. You could have at least started us off, adamjs69!!!......

This isn't mine, but I sure wish it was. This has seen some REAL service!

It would look sooo good if you put white binding on the edges. And maybe white scratchplates over the window.

Big John...have you got pics of the neck on that old 52 ri?? I have an 82 as well...body has not checked on mine but the finish is "sinking" into the grain nicely and it's well worn too!

This is not mine but an early '52ri that I saw in a local establishment a few years ago. I at first thought it was a real '52 until I saw the dot underneath the serial number.

...and this is my '64 JM. I'm under the impression that it's an original finish but the sonic blue keeps me scratching my head. Doesn't matter, it's a great guitar and I didn't pay too much for it 15 years ago.

Funny thing is, the neck only has 2 or 3 craze marks on the whole thing !, weird !!.
Have noticed the finish sinking to but looking at Mark N and lewis posts they seem quite erratic ageing, maybe it depends where and how, mine spent most of its life north of the arctic circle in Norway so maybe it ages different to somewhere with high humidity ?

I just noticed the second ding in my Esquire - maybe in a few years I can post photos in a thread like this.

It looks like my run with a guitar is about 3 years then I end up getting something else. I have a few guitars my dad bought me that are over 10 years old but none of those are really worn out as to I never gig with those.

Road worn...

Mine is in the avatar. A mostly original 68. The original owner had some stickers on the face. You can see the difference in the finish where they were applied.

here's my '68... come on down to the Holland Summer Jam this weekend and try it out. It sounds pretty good through the old '55 Deluxe, too.
