I didn't see any paisley on that first link, and I didn't like the paisley patterns on the third link. The second link is kind of interesting, but I didn't care for the adhesive back and shiny front. I don't think it would take a clear coat very well at all.
I have been searching for what I would call acceptable paisley wall paper forever, and haven't found anything to my taste yet. There was an old boy on here that was selling pink paisley paper from the original fender manufacture. However, he wanted an arm and a leg for it. 400$ for enough to do front and back. Yikes!!!! Who can afford that, not I. But it was really nice pink paisley. I am looking for orange or blue paisley. You can also use paisley cloth. |

You could print a really large slide decal (or two and join them) with the fade on the edges and apply it to the whole body like the headstock decal - then clear coat it.
Saves doing the feathered spray round the edges. Decal paper's cheap. Printer can print pretty decent. Only thing that won't look quite right is the silver metallic backing, unless you paint it silver first, and then feather on the pink burst. It sure would take a lot less clear coats to cover a decal than to cover textured wallpaper Just a thought... ![]() (Thanks to Bucko for the paisley image) ...airbrushed with the eraser on photoshop

I'm not at all sure you could apply a waterslide decal without getting lots of wrinkles and tears. I've been thinking about this one for a while...

Hmmm - I've done guitar-sized decals on surfboards ... but I did have the advantage of placing it under a layer of fiberglass. I suppose the only way to know would be to try it.

More on this whole thing later.
It is getting interestinger and interestinger. If you know what I mean.

Methinks the venerable Bucko has a paisley on the drawing board...

But, if you just gotta do a decal or paper print, and have Adobe Illustrator, this link may help. Just some options... |

i don't know if you have lowes stores in texas, but they still carry wallpaper. home depot just stopped a year or two ago. they don't have exactly they patterns fender used, but they do have nice patterns with silver, and gold leaf. last time i checked it was about $25 a yard. not too shabby.....

What was the material that Fender used to print the photo of flamed maple on, when they did the photoflame series. My thinking is that you could print the paisley pattern on that, then attach it to the front and back of a guitar that was already painted silver. If it worked then all you would have to do is paint the edges pink. Just a thought.

It is based upon a scan of the back of my '85 MiJ that I did one night last December. At best it is crude. The spacing of the amoebas is not very good. Have at it.

I used to do vinyl graphics and window tint. It's easy once you have some practice. Buy some scrap wood, paint it, and practice to get the feel. |

As far as the silver under-layer, they do make a Chrome adhesive-backed vinyl for graphics. It's not embossed like the real deal, but lay some of that down underneath, and, well, it's good enough for the girls I go out with!
OMG! I just got another really weird idea. Gotta get some funding together. |
