Lollar, Lollar, Lollar Get Your Pickups Here!

So I bit the bullet and ordered up a set of Lollar Vintage T pickups for my 2008 American Standard Tele. It's a natural ash body with a rosewood board...

Just dropped the guitar off to have the pickups replaced - should have it back tomorrow... I'll let you guys know how it goes!

p.s. I picked up a 65 reissue princeton reverb from the same shop that's doing my swap for me... Dear fender - if you can make an amp sound this good then WHY DON'T YOU DO IT ALL THE TIME??? That's a lovely little amp!

It will be interesting to see how those Lollars perform on the new Am Std, bridge and bent steel saddles configuration. You may well be the first to try this new guitar on with the Vintage Ts.

BTW, have you got the speaker broken in at all yet on that RI Princeton Reverb?
Glad to hear another happy owner, these are well received so far, IMO.

the princeton has only been played for about 15 hours tops so far so i don't think it's totally broken in yet. still sounds great... only get better i think.

it's got a bit of a hiss even with the volume turned to zero -- sounds like shhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... if you get my drift. i know it's off topic for this thread but if anyone has any tips to eliminate that i'd appreciate it. i think it might be one of the pre-amp tubes but what do i know?

well i got the guitar back from my favorite guitar shop - and i freaking love these new pickups!!!

they're glassy and smooth, plenty of twang without the shrill high end the stock pickups had. so much character - this little telecaster might just be my favorite guitar ever!

gotta give a shout out to john at ring music - he did an amazing set-up for me and this guitar is soooo amazing to play now. this guy really cares about getting every detail right and it's such a pleasure to see these days!

anyone in toronto, do yourself a favor and go see john at ring music! great little guitar shop by u of t. plenty of fender goodness there!

yay!
