my beautiful guitars

Lately the squier/allparts thinline has become my main
guitar it has a very nice clean twang.

Very nice guitars there. I used to own a Squire Pro Tone also but I had to off her to pay for the fret job on my MIJ '52 re-issue tele.

Are those Strat p-ups in your neck positions?

I did that with one of my Teles, and I think it's a great sound, as well! Nice guitars, man...

Any trouble going between the maple board and the r'wood? I'll be neck shopping soon for my latest Tele project and I'm kicking around the idea of going with maple
(all my other guitars are r'wood).

neck PU's

No, the neck PU's are SD tele pu's without the cover.
I prefer maple necks but don't think there's a problem going between maple and rose wood.
The original neck on the pro tone was maple, but it was very thin I wanted a neck similar to the one on my CIJ 50's and found one at allParts.
