Did you have Jimi in mind when typing that? I don't think Jimi should be lit on fire and put out with a shovel. Oh wait, that was a Strat.

I'll tolerate the Bigsby. Humbuckers if they tickle you, though if you need two coils, I find a mini or a Filtertron cooler.
But what's intolerable is a six saddle bridge. Yuck. Very un-Tele. Bear |

I've seen some real hacked-up drill & chisel jobs on eBay. Wow, what a mess. I prefer a router and template, like they use at the factory,. myself. But, coming from a family of wood-carvers and furniture-builders, I've also seen some nice chisel-work. But, since the skill didn;t make it into my DNA, I'll go with a router.

![]() Ohh PLEASE. I have a dual humbucker tele, but its coil tapped. Would I play one without a coil tap? Yes.. Although I prefer to have the tap so I can get those classic tele sounds too (esp. in bridge pos.). Cheers! Chris. |

If you feel the need to have a humbucker in your tele... good on you, but you should atleast have another tele that stays single coils. Then saying that one of my favourite players Jonny Greenwood has a tele plus, which as we know has the humbucker and single lace sensors. The only tele he actually uses live, studio wise i dont know what he uses tele wise all i do know is he has that lush starcaster. OO anyone here got a starcaster?!

Things not to do to a Tele
- Replacing the bone nut with a plastic nut for getting more twang.
- Replacing the Tele neck with a Gibson neck for having best of both worlds. - Adding a third pickup (EMG 81 humbucker) to your Tele for having better versatility. - Playing tennis with it to get your favorite neck angle. - Taking it with you in bad if you have no life that day. |

Looks like that humbucker has really added some weight to the guitar............

Humbucker in the bridge position...no, no, no! The Tele then becomes nothing more than a Tele-shaped guitar and loses the essence of what makes a Telecaster a great guitar. IMVHO of course.

Honestly, I can only express my own opinion here... but ordering the least appealing to me...
I'm sorry to any who may like a Bigsby in a Tele, but this is HIDEOUS! ![]() Admittedly, I don't have much room to talk as I have a 3 pup 1981 LP Custom black beauty with a Floyd Rose in it. This is rather troubling, but considering it's a joke, hey, LOL! ![]() There are some interesting ideas embodied there. This Mick Mars guitar doesn't really bother me... at least its a Tele!!

This guitar runs against just about everything I stand for when one is talking Teles. But I like it, and if the price was right, I'd take one.
Things not to do with a Tele. Don't let UPS anywhere near it, unless you want it reliced.
