1954 on EBAY
Is this for real? I can't really see the solder, no picture of the back of the neck, strange circular wear pattern on the back of the body where a belt buckle oughta be back and forth. But if its real, 20 k is a good deal.

Man, if that wasn't on the other side of the state for me (bout a 3 hour trip, one way), I'd check it out in person. Seems to have kinda strange wear on the front along with the circular pattern on the back. If it's the real-deal, it's a good one....
EDIT: Just took another, closer, look at the auction...too many funny things, how come no pic of the whole headstock? Is that tuner missing or did they just take it off for the pic? Guess it doesn't really matter, I don't have an extra $20000 laying around anyway... |

Why would almost 20K for a 54 be a great deal (in that beat up shape). I was recently offered a 55 in MUCH cleaner shape with the tweed case for 19K?
I did not think it was any huge deal but maybe I am missing something. |

That spot in the finish above the bridge has obviously been mucked about with....perhaps to remove something written or scrawled into the finish at one point?
I'd like to see more pictures if I were buying, but everything I can see in these looks correct for 1954. Cheers, David |
