I haven't had my Esquire done very long, but I think an Esquire is an interesting diversion from the rest of my Tele's. Mine started life as a HWY-1, it uses a SD Broadcaster PUP with custom wiring, it flat rips.

It's not Blonde, it's been repainted with Krylon "Celery". A color I would describe as a green version of Sonic Blue. Here is a link to the thread I did on the build for this guitar. The SD Broadcaster does sound great IMO, it works great for an Esquire.

I was really amazed at how much you can tweak the sound by changing the volume & tone, as well as varying my pick attack or using a pick or fingers. Good things happen when you play an Esquire.
Yeah like he said!

If i had a eskwire i would throw a neck pickup in there in a hurry. Neck p/up and Neck + Bridge are sounds i just can't do without.

AMEN!!
Pop the Astray on for a night and you'll REALLY change your chops.
It made my right brain work overtime in a good way.

I need to get an ashtray for my Esquire. That and a Thermometer case and I'll be good to go!

One thing I did on the front position was run a cap to a trim pot,and turn it until the desired treble was gone.....I then superglued the pot and taped it off.
Here are some samples---I also put a push/pull pot for the tone to choose between 2 different caps,so I could get a cocked wah sound or regular tone pot.
This was a take on a great mod by Mark Davis.
Forgive the playing---
