My friend wants to buy me a Tele how cool is that?

One of my friends who doesnt play guitar Mark Margrave called me up last night and said Ive been making alot of extra $$ and wanna buy you a nice Tele. He has been sending me Ebay links and stuff and I thought he was getting interested in playing guitar but no he wants to buy me one.

He said he almost got me an 82 52ri and was wondering if I would have liked that! hahah YES!

I told him I was already getting a new Squier 50's Classic Vibe Tele for $300 and he said oh you want something better than that dont ya I said not really I got guitars coming out my ying yang 58 VOS Les Paul Les Paul Robot OM21 Martin Vintage Player Strat HWY1 Jazz BASS Lap Steel and a UKE.

So he said well you need a Tele to complete your collection right?

So he said whats the best one they make I said probably the Nocaster so he said find a nice one you want and I'll get it for ya!

This is too weird. But a good weird! hahaha I sure do have some good friends here in Bakersfield and here in the web and I really appreciate all my friends.

I'm thinking you got a good friend there. And, you must have been a pretty good friend to this guy, too, for him to even be thinking along these lines.

A new Tele is a fine thing. Good friends... well... whole 'nother story.

Good friends are priceless. I was injured some years back, on the job. Sold ALL my musical equipment and gave the cash to my wife to tide us over... I was at some kind of party "dont remember what it was for" and we were all jamming..I was on one of My uncles axe's and a friend of ours from Cuba was there...laying down some real motown bottom. We got to talkin afterwards and he asked about one of my guitars. Told him I sold them all, was just getting back on my feet and had NO guitars left. Couple weeks later, he comes over and GIFTS me a Stratocaster. He is a hobby luthier..has the NICEST neck Ive ever felt...Gorgeous guitar..I think the Body is MIM, the electronics are all USA Fender, and a Classic MIJ neck.Pickguard is Warmoth..I think "parchment" a real FrankenKaster . Just handed it to me! Meant so much to me at the time it was unbelievable...kept my chops up for a good year where I would have fallin out of practice..Ive got more gear than I can shake a stick at now...and That Strat will never be sold. Im waiting for the opportunity to get him something REALLY nice that he wants...perhaps a Jaco Pastorius Sig J-Bass. here is a pic of "Butters"

I can be somebody's friend, too!! Just PM me and I'll send you my "wish list"!

Mark, friends like that are hard to come by and even harder to keep. My Best Friend, I've had for 40 years now, and we're still playing music together!

Sounds like he's pretty special, but then again, he must think the same of you! Congrats!!

Ya this guy also named Mark is a special person.

One of his friends got thrown in jail for 6 months and to keep his credit from getting ruined Mark paid his house payments jet ski paymemts and when his friend got out of jail Mark never even ask for any $$ back.

One of the good guys for sure!

I got one of my woman friends an SX BASS for her Birthday on Feb 15th and have been showing her how to play.

So I guess my good deed is getting repaid.

Well all I can say is that good people get rewarded and it looks like it is happening to you Mark. You deserve it.
Congratulations on your forthcoming guitar and for having such a great friend.

More regrets about not being popular!

My sister gave me my first guitar, and my wife has given me Tele, Godin LG, and a 12 string acoustic, but I must have failed in the friend department because none of them have GIVEN me a guitar. Maybe I need better friends.
