uhmmm....oops. Just bought a guitar.
I swear, I have to stop doing this.
Been looking for a '72 Tele Custom or Deluxe. Browsing EBay, found one just listed under Telecaster (no deluxe). ON a lark, I put in a $400 max bid. I got it for less than that. Looks to be in pretty much new condition. MIM, 2006 based on the serial number. New they're $699. This one is black on black. I had considered the sunburst version, and I had a bead on a natural finish CIJ, but it would have been considerably more I'm sure. Anyway, I'll post pics as soon as it arrives. And in the meantime, I gotta stay away from Ebay, musicians friend, guitar center, etc. |

Oh---it was that daggone "right now on ebay" link below that made me find it.
Geez! Otherwise, I never would have found it, since I've been searching '72 telecaster deluxe or custom! Oh well. I just hope it is in good shape. It was a hell of a deal. |

Congrats! Nice Guitar. Hope this particular one is exactly what you've been looking for.
That right now on ebay is a dangerous button to click, unless you're ready to spend your money...... Good luck with the new one, and as you said..... pics when she arrives.

Oh---my post was ambiguous. It's a 72 Custom.
I actually haven't played on in person. I've played quite a few deluxes, and I liked them quite a bit. But my guess is that the Custom is gonna offer a bit more flexibility in terms of sound because of the mix of the WRH and the bridge single-coil. Again, I actually figured there was no way I'd win it at that price ($390). If it's in good shape, that's a crazy price. Last edited by superbadj; June 11th, 2008 at 09:38 AM. |
