New Baja Tele in da house

Went shopping today and tried a bunch of Tele's, including the "blackout" model, which wasn't bad... but I came home with this baby:

Quite a range of sounds. I dig everything about it, except maybe the 1-ply pickguard... might have to do something about that.

Anyway... just showin' off!

Great choice, Baja + Desert Sand! I also have a Blonde, but the DS was my first choice. Hows the weight? Mine are 7.25 lbs and 7.85 lbs.

I think the Baja tele has got the be the best "innovation" or variation of the standard tele...or whatever you want to call it...in many, many years at Fender. Very different from a typical tele, and yet very similar...not an easy thing to accomplish. Looks cool! Congrats!

Yes, soft V. It's big and fat, biggest neck I've owned. I like it. One thing I have noticed after getting it home, is that the frets definitely need some work. Lots of sharp edges.

+1 on the fret work. Mine hasn't perfect frets as well.
She got her first bump today, on the horn. It's kinda sad, but on the other hand, she's on her way to relicing!

EDIT: And god, that neck profile is to die for. Love it. Really. Now when I play my Sheraton, it seems like there's a void in my hand.

Bad camera phone pic of my current setup.

The amp is a '66 Pro Reverb, half rebuilt by me.
