CIJ Teles from US stores?

I've seen a very very few CIJ guitars from Fender for sale in stores (Dave's had a '62 RI wBigsby for a while, I think)....but today at a local store he has one of the blue "Flower" Teles...

Are we going to start seeing some varied CIJ stuff here?

The ‘60s Custom Telecaster® with Bigsby® has been imported by FMIC for several years now and is on the Fender website. The Blue Flower is another story. There have been sightings of new Paisley and Blue Flower models recently. Don't know the answer.

This guy was kind of in the dark as well...I asked if we were gonna see some more Japanese stuff here and he just smiled and said "Well, I think we may...that's what I'm hearing".

FWIW, the Blue Flower he has is VERY NICE as it sits...with a bit of setup it'd be a killer guitar IMO.

I think 2004 was the last time I saw a new CIJ Jaguar and Jazzmaster in a store.

They're on the Fender website so FMIC is importing them. Actually just a few Jaguar and Jazzmaster models on the website are from Japan.

Appears to be a Special Run

I visited the local Fender dealer last week and found new CIJ pink paisley and blue flower Teles and a pik paisley Strat, so I believe Fender has commissioned a special run of these from Fender Japan again, as it did about five years ago.

A friend of mine works for a large regional music store and told me that if he orders a minimum quantity of guitars at once, that he can get any of the Japanese only (not for export) guitars, no problem (is this a Fender dealer secret?) I'm looking for Richie Kotzen Tele...Anyone else wanna place an order with me...?
