4 Piece Body vs. 2 Piece Body (Alder)

I was just wondering if a 4 piece body will sound that much worse than a 2 piece body even if it has good pups in it and played through a good amp.

Thanks.

I am not trying to be a smart-alec, but it is quite possible any given 4 piece could be a much better body than a given 2 piece body.

The only real way to tell is to build both and decide.

Are the odds better in favor of the 2 piece, maybe.

I have MIM Tele 5 piece alder body that is one of my best sounding guitars. [stock PUPs FWIW]

So we all can keep wondering with you really IMO.

In closing I'd say I would not be afraid to get a 4 piece body. I 'will' say when I make one, I do not put a seam down the center of the body, except on a top cap if I am doing it that way.

When I went strat shopping I played a lot of guitars and the best one was a natural ash 4 piece body. Not the prettiest guitar (well, not that bad) but it sounds killer!

Thanks guys. I was thinking that I've screwed up my entire guitar build by buying expensive pups and putting an expensive finish on a 4 piece body. Glad to see I was wrong!
