GE Smith bridge pickup

A silly question, maybe. I keep reading that the pup is screwed directly into the body. Is it screwed in like a p-90 (screws into the body, but has a spacer, so it's really kind of off the body) or is there some other way it's screwed in?

It's screwed directly to the body. However, it is recessed about 1/4".
There is no spacer that I can see

Here is mine, all nekked...it uses regular surgical tubing spacers, as you can see in Pics.

Could you clarify the "1/4 recessed" for me, not sure what you mean there...
