Hmmm....trade? Need your input

Ok. Here are the basics.

I've always wanted a 72-style Tele deluxe or custom. I switch from liking the black-on-black, to the natural-finish body with black guard, to the sunburst.

I'd probably skip the sunburst, just because my '62 RI is also sunburst. So a little variation is good.

I also have, as you can see in my sig, a natural-mahogany finished Gretsch Corvette.

I found someone who has a natural-finish CIJ 72 Tele Deluxe he might want to trade for a CIJ Jazzmaster in CAR. Which I ALSO happen to have. I bought the jazzy precisely for the idea of potentially trading it. But I like it as well.

So...my options are:

Trade the Jazzy for the natural CIJ Tele Deluxe.

Keep the Jazzy.

Sell the Jazzy, buy a MIM Tele Deluxe or Custom.

Anyone have much input on the sounds of the 72 deluxe vs 72 custom? Obviously, the different bridge pup will make a different sound.

I wanna try to find at least one of these at a GC to try them out. But that's a hit-and-miss affair.

How would you guys rate the tele deluxe/custom vs the jazzmaster (knowing this is a tele forum, i can guess at the response!).

I'm in no rush. Just curious. I've really enjoyed the short ownership of the Jazzmaster, and I'm just trying to see if I'm bonding with it or not. It's a different beast than my tele or the Corvette.

Well, I have a MIM '72 Deluxe RI in Walnut mint condition (about a year old) that I'd be interested in trading for your Jazzmaster if it's in good shape. It's a great guitar and the 12" radius fretboard is awesome. (the custom is a 7.25 I believe).

I've been craving a Jazzmaster since the Elvis Costello one was released.
PM me if interested.

If you really want to get rid of the Jazz, I'd trade straight up for the CIJ Deluxe. Either way, you have a nice guitar.

I'll consider it, though the walnut finish isn't at the top of my list of finishes for the deluxe. They're all nice, though.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot. I also am jonesing for a Gretsch hollow. A 6118 two-tone green annie, but because of price, more likely, a 5120/5122/512x series.
