Not sure if Seinfeld made it to Germany, but every time I see something like this I think of when George Costanza bought Jon Voight's car.

Never seen the Colonel with that guitar, but who knows ... he's probably owned more guitars than I know of .

One thing is certain however: he didn't use it in any of the "Blues Brothers" movies - the first one being fro 1980 (he supposedly got the guitar in '86), and in "Blues Brothers 2000" he used his Peavey sig. guitar.

I would take this with a big grain of salt ...

It may have just been a way to plug his crummy band. They probablt don't get many offers either.
Where did they record that song, at the kitchen table?

Actually I've got an old Marshall amp that Jimi Hendrix once pissed on... How can I prove it? Well, it's old and it smells like piss... Must've been Jimi... Anyone wanna buy it?

+1 on the grain of salt, but since the Blues Brothers movie wass made in 80 and the seller got the guitar in 86, why would it have been impossible for Cropper to have used it in the movie? Not saying he did use it, but that does seem plausable.

With all the original pieces being there, it might be better for him to part it out. That body is junk.

I better check my eyes - I thought Steve Cropper got it in '86 ...

I don't buy it. And I certainly coudn't believe that Steve routed it out. He just doesn't seem like that big of a gear head.

Could anyone drop a line to Steve or mail him ? I think, it would be very interesting to know, whether this story (and other) stories are true.

Quote from ad :-

"it is initialed by him inside…..under the neck in the pocket (you can see this purported initialization in the pics"

Makes a refreshing change from the usual ' T G' though !

Yeah, and a natural finished Tele in Ray Charles' music store ... not the one in question I'm sure.

And Hafner, I've tried to e-mail Steve before (about his white/blonde Tele) but got no answer.
