Nocaster wiring question...

I did a search and could not find an answer, so if it has been answered elsewhere, please direct me..

I have a 51 Nocaster CS Relic with the original blender wiring. Love the blender sound.. but would like to turn the "tone knob" on the "mudded" neck pickup up about 1/2 way..

I understand if you change out the 15k resistor with one of lesser value, you can even out the volume drop, but is there a capacitor value that you can put in line that makes the neck pickup sound like it had a tone knob setting of "5" for a more "jazzy" sounding tone than the current really dark tone setting that sounds like a tone knob set at minus 3?

Thanks for your help!

Bump.. Has anyone just tried to lighten up the tone of the "muddy" neck pickup setting instead of going to the standard tone/volume wiring?

Thanks in advance for any help..

See if you can get the switch to balance half-way between the mid and front positions. There is a position there that gives a nice jazzy tone!

Put a 15k resistor in series between the switch and the capacitor.
This will have the effect of turning the tone in the neck position halfway down.

I also put a jumper over the 15k resistor on the switch to increase the volume of the neck pickup.
