Pics of My Teles and Tele Oddities
And a project or two.
First off, my Squier Tele, my Esquire, and my Parts Tele with my 5150 Combo: ![]() Here's a Squer HM Tele project that stalled because the Floyd was on crooked and I took the wrong approach to fixing it: ![]() I think I figured out how to get it back on track, but I'm not in a big hurry to do so yet. Here's a double-bound Kramer Tele project with parts from eBay: ![]() I know the headstock doesn't match, but I'll fix that later. You can't really see the binding because it's white and the body is cream. |

Here's a doo-hickey to mount a Tele pickup in a humbucker hole:
![]() And a chrome-covered, Strat-sized DiMarzio pickup that's kind of unusual: ![]() I had it in a partscaster, but it didn't sound very good. I sent it back to DiMarzio and they checked it out, fixed whatever was wrong, and sent it back no charge. That's one reason I'm a fan. I don't know what I'm going to do with those pickguards or that pickup mount. I bought those thinking I would use them, but my build plans have changed. Who knows, maybe I'll get around to using 'em sooner or later... Thanks for looking. |

Is that doo-hickey wide enough to cover a humbucker rout? Doesn't look much wider than a Telecaster bridge plate. A humbucker rout is about 3 1/2 inches wide.

Maybe that doo-hickey was just intended to mount a Telecaster bridge pickup when you were using a non-Telecaster type bridge.

Hey, I need one of those doo-hickies!
I need to mount a tele bridge pup in a humbucker cavity. Can those be bought, or was that fabricated?

The only thing that concerns me with those pickguards is that they might crack when screwing them to the body. I'd probably put some rubber o-rings between the screws and the guard if I did use one on an actual guitar.
