Wonder if the price/value of used Paisley & Blue Floral Tele's will:

go up?
Fender is charging about $300.00 more for the new ones than they originally sold them for when they first came out.

I meant the reissues they released in 2002.

I remember seeing a pink paisley Tele in a music store in Japan listed for $700 in 1989.

Well if you're talking about the originals that came out in 1968, they sold for $279.50. They're now selling new CIJ versions for $1000. I'd say the used CIJ version I bought for around $500 will go up in value.

I think you got a great guitar and a good investment....I bought mint Buck Owens for $699 w/case some years ago....Sadly sold it....Wish I would of kept it now. I think re-issueing them(Paisley) will only hurt the value for the short term though.....May not though.

It'll be interesting to see if they sell at this price or if they get discounted/blown out like they did a few years ago.

They're made on an ongoing basis by Fender Japan. It appears FMIC is importing them for a limited time. Here's what Elderly Instruments has to say about them.

I can't keep anything I enjoy using in good enough shape to worry about resale value.
I prefer to use it until I buy another. I usually end up giving my stuff away when I lose interest or "upgrade" to something newer.

Most of my good friends have old guitars or motorcycles of mine that have been donated when I'm "done" with them (but they are still ticking to this day)...

It looks like this concept might be coming true. I've seen BF's selling for more than 5 or 6 hundred dollars recently.
