Best way to buy a 52ri?

I live in Brazil and I will buy a 52ri tele for me. But I would like to know something from you, americans. How can I get the best prices? Buying from the internet from shops like Musicians Friend or in a local shop, like a regular Guitar Center? In MF, the 52 ri is going for US$ 1,400.

I am going to California to visit some friends in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Go to more than one shop, try out as many as you can find. Pick the best one. Buy it.

Not really, unless you can catch one w/ some cosmetic defects that they might discount some ?...or run into some sort of Holiday Sale @ a Guitar Center.
