New Tele finally done, pic inside

This was a rondo SX ash , with the countoured body. The neck is bound and I reshaped the headstock. The frets neeeded some cleaning up and polishing but is other wise a pretty nice neck. The body is re finished in a translucent blond and I installed a vintage style bridge with compensated brass saddles. All the pups and pots are from a MIM Tele. The pick guard I made myself using "Garolite" from McMaster-Carr. The finish was the first time I tried to do a see through style and required a complete strip down and redo to get it to where it is now, which is not great but playable. Sorry for the not so great pic, something has gone wrong with my camera. It doesn't want to focus properly anymore.

I guess your camera couldn't hold up to the blinding beauty of your new guitar! :) I'm halfway through my first tele build myself. I've never seen fretboard dots like yours before. Nice way to make it your own. Have fun breaking it in!

I think that looks great JMPRO. I'm feeling another SX project coming on - wish the ash STL was currently available, though. Did the neck come bound and did you strip the entire neck? Nice work all around!

It's a fairly common design.

Comes stock on some Rondo models such as this one:

Other than the headstock reshape and cleaning up the sharp ends of the frets I didn't do any thing else to the neck. I did use the machine screw conversion for the neck bolts. When I put the picture on photobucket I rotated it to the upright position but when I linked it in the post it shows up in the wrong position.. I still need to do a little fine tuning but it plays pretty nice a has a nice snap when I do a pulloff. The ash must be like northern ash in that its a little heavy at 7.5 lbs. but like Freddy Traverras said " I like the most heavy body you got"

Looks fantastic!

Doesn't Breedlove also have fret dots like that?
