Im a thineline man now

Happy days are here!
I scored what I beleive to be a 99 or 2000, 72`RI Thinline, my first thinline, infact my first actual fender made Tele now that I think of it.
Its the dual bucker MiM is pristine as new not a scratch dins nothing, fact i question that its ever been out of a case. I alsways kinda wanted the Bucker in the neck and single coil in the bridge but hey, I talked the guy down 100 bones and he threw in a nice hardcase that it came in.
Altho Im not hepped up on dual buckers but has the sweetest tone, real mellow, yet seemed to want to crunch when pushed and had a slight bit of twang even.
Guess its true a tele = twang no matter what you want it to do, atleast to some degree. Ill see if i can get some pics if anyone wants to see.

Wonderful grain on the body, a fine looking specimen. The serial number will date it, if it is MN9, it is 1999, if it reads MZ0 it is 2000 (M= Made in Mexico, N = 1990's, third digit is year in decade.)

I have the 2001 Surf Green MIM special run of the five car colors, I got it right from tyhe Fender warehouse in Calif. sight unseen. It was immaculate and very nearly perfectly set up with a very few minor tweeks to the saddles. I have not changed a thing except the strings in five years. It is a wonderful instrument and I love the tones it produces, very mellow for dual humbuckers. It will get up and rock as well, and it is sufficiently twangy to qualify as a real Telecaster.

Good playing,

Bonneville Bruce

That black pickguard looks absoloutly stunning on yours!
I have yet to play mine much amped as im out of town but been playing it unplugged and was amazed the tone without the amp that this baby has.
I never messed with fender buckers before so it will be interesting if anything. Thanks for the info, looks like mine is a 99.Do most of you play yours for jazzy type sounds. i BELEIVE this may get me into a different realm of blues and rockabilly
