Thanks for the e-mails, guys.. I just got really busy. I still come here several times a day. I'm tied up on a different kind of build, inspired by Robben Ford, along with many other projects. I'll try to post a few pics as possible.

What I wouldn't do for a day in that workshop with some good lumber. I'm sure whatever I did would probably end up badly but it'd be fun.

I cut and slotted the fingerboard today. Cocobolo. I think I'll do the MOP block inlays tomorrow. This one will also be bound in cream. Click the pic for a better look.

Yep, I hear the small marker thing- however this build is spec'd out for blocks. I have real MOP blocks (not plastic) which will look gorgeous against the different hues of the cocobolo.

As an aside, my last personal build went without markers at all.. I may install some side dots at some point, but I didn't want to spoil the flow of the bocote fretboard.

I really love the symetrical flow of the grain on that fingerboard---the inlays will look great on that!!!!!

That is hands down the most beautiful fret board I've ever seen, Rich. Its almost a shame to have to cover it with strings, but they should compliment the grain nicely.

Well thanks.. I like it, too. I finally got the rest of the inlays cut in, and now need to radius the board, taper the width, and bind it. It's funny that I always forget how much work goes into one of these.. Maybe I try not to think about it.

Well.. I got it tapered roughly where I want it, I'll have to do a bit of fine tuning before I bind it. I decided to get a rough radius on there too. The jointer is the flattest, most stable place I have for this work. It actually works very well.

Yep. Double sided tape. End to end, or the difference in thickness would transfer through. It's a pain to take it off, but I really like the surface for accuracy.
