Rondo change-o - looks like the p90 is out and a Nashville is in

just looked over at the Rondo site and saw a new Nashville tele model http://www.rondomusic.com/stl62sssvwh.html

Unfortunately, I did NOT see the p90... BUT the link still works http://www.rondomusic.com/stl50p90vwh

weird.

But cool that Rondo is so in touch with the community. I'd probably jump immediately on a tele with a mini-humbucker, but that's me.

Best,

13.7" radius... Not for me, 12" tops maybe, prefer 9.5" personally.

The other problem I have with all Kurts stuff is the 1-5/8" @ the nut. I have a Strat like that and I have to stay away from playin near the nut with my huge mits. ;(

I'd be tempted too except for the rosewood board, and worrying about the vintage white coming through with a green tint like the one I got and returned (an stl50 with two pups).
Now if he comes out with one with a maple board and in a different color......

I noticed the same thing.
I'd imagine if it's not listed, it's gone.
Sometimes I'll Google a Rondo model and the link will work but it does not show up on the site.
I guess a little web server admin work is required here.

As far as both go though - a Tele model for me has to have a maple neck. That's just me. And I'm not crazy about that so-called "white."

With my luck, after I'm done modding my SX, Kurt is gonna have a nice Tele model with a nice color and either P90s or H/B in the neck. I just know it.

Product pages on rondo never actually go away, they just get de-linked from the main pages.

Try to order soemthing out of stock and it'll stop you pretty quick though.

You can search the forum with "Rondo SX STL" and you'll get a bunch of hits. I like mine just fine. I modded it a bit, but really all I would advise is a change of tuners.

SX guitars are a good value for the money but you may have to do some tweaking.

Expect it but don't hesitate to buy one because of it. You can always return it if you get a real lemon.

Budget in an extra $50 for tweaks so you won't be surprised.

I'm playing an SX right now (SEG 2). I have three.

I bought the SX SST Ash Strat that is awesome. It took some time to get it tuned and innotated however, when you have a trem bridge tuning can be a challenge. It plays nice and the wood is excellent. The stock pickups are good but I am upgrading to one of the GFS pups soon. I also have an Agile AL2000 LP copy that is awesome stock. I want to get another one and try some mods to it to see what I can come up with.

noisemedia, I think that 3-pup model is new - I've never seen it before on their site - so I don't think anyone here really has one yet, but it's possible I guess. If it's any help, I have a few guitars from Rondo, mostly Agiles, which are a step up from the SX models. The Agiles are good guitars, and with a few tweaks, very good guitars.
We are lucky to be living in a time when you can get guitars like these at those kind of prices. In the mid-'80s a $200 guitar might stay in tune if you were lucky - now you could take a $200 guitar out of the box and do a gig with it.

The link still works, but if you add it to your cart it says that they are currently out of stock and that you should check back often. However, a friend and I were wondering if the recent earthquake in China affected any of the factories that make these guitars. Hopefully not, but you never know, so if you see something there you like I'd get it while you can. I ordered my first guitar from Rondo last weekend, it arrived yesterday. I talk about and show some pics in a thread in the Tech forum about the Rondo Burl Top Tele, but I think this thing is awesome, so I'll share a few pics on this thread too...

Not an SX, but the Douglas WF 150 TA. Here's how it arrived:

I thought the pickguard was too distracting from the beautiful grain, so I put in a Squier Standard guard I had left over from an Esquire conversion:

Amen. I wish they'd make a T-style guitar with a wide 1 3/4" neck like they do on several of the LP'esque models they have (and one Explorer). I'd love to pick one up as a cheap knock around fun guitar, but I can't take the pain playing little skinny, narrow necks anymore. :(

Yeah, I just said that.
I think a webmaster should fix that, 'cause they will still show up in a Google search and it is confusing.
It is not very difficult to change the rights on a folder or remove it from public view.

Search here or in countless others forums and you will find tons of people who buy and like these guitars.
Kurt told me he sells about 100 a day.
Must be somethin' 'bout 'em.

I did not make one change (yet anyway) to my Strat model.

But, as mentioned, many people seem to often make about $100 to $200 worth of mods to them.
Still a great value.

Definitely, the cost of the bridge on the Douglas Tele would cost you about 1/3rd of what the guitar costs if you were to buy it on the aftermarket market, then throw in the costs of the neck, body, bridge, PUs, etc....How does Rondo do it? Who cares how, I'm just glad they do!

They also have the Nashville style in 2 Tone Sunburst! I only wish it had a maple neck! I heard the rosewood necks leave your fingers black...

Good change on that white pickguard.
Looks like the panelling in Gramdma's basement. NICE!

I agree. But I think cream colored pups are ugly on any guitar.
Why are P90s so often that color instead of chrome or gold like other pickups?

Yes, they do. But after a few hours of playing that stops.
I know that sounds like I'm joking but I'm not.
Eventually the ink wears off and all is good.

I have SX SST 57 Vintage strat.....cream color......maple neck/fretboard...... awesome quality, had the tiniest buzz at the 12th fret when I got it, otherwise, perfect, stays in tune. Sounds like a strat to me. Coveting the tele now.

The Powder Blue is gone already!

Did you guys clear Kurt out of all of 'em?

By the way, the Vintage White link now brings up HTML code:
