Probably been asked a million times but how do regular Fender pickguards fit?

You mentioned plugging holes when mounting the vintage plate. I'm not seeing any sign of plugs in this pic. All under the bridge?

Steve G: I used Allparts PGs. As with many situations it is not a direct fit - some holes matched & others didn't. Simply glued some toothpicks in those that didn't and drilled new ones.

No, Brendan the 3 holes I plugged are about 1/4" behind the bridge. If you click on the pic to expand you can sorta see them if you know where to look. I touched them up to be a tad lighter than the background and then used a Minwax felt tip stain touchup pen to fake in the wood grain a bit. Up close you can see them but barely so.

Thanks infrapista - I'm assuming that black one in your album is an SX.....looks really nice. What's the reliced white one?

Steve: Forgot to mention that I also had to file the PGs a bit to fit properly around the heel of the neck and control plate.

Just wanted to chime in that your SX Esquire is a really nice guitar. Nice job, especially with the headstock re-shape. I hope you enjoy it.
