Roy Buchanan Second Album Acquired Today!

Thanks to a recent thread on this forum, I sought out Roy's Second Album, which, as all of you know, is out of print (except for an import CD version). Four of the eight tracks on the album are available on iTunes as part of two different compilations.

Well, I was able to score a very clean LP version of the album on eBay, and all I can say is, "Wow! What a record!" I can't get over how crazy, how deeply emotional his playing was. He speaks to me like few instrumentalists have ever done before. And he makes me want to practice by butt off.

The four tracks not available on iTunes will soon be on my iPod, so I won't wear the vinyl out.

Thanks for tipping me off to this totally enjoyable music!

Kevin

I'm not sure which song it is, but you hear him click to the Bridge Pickup during during a solo. A WONDERFUL click.

Good for you, Kevin. It's a great record, and I hope it gives you a lot of pleasure.

I was listening to it last when I posted in that other Roy thread, and it had grown on me from last time I heard it. I wouldn't have thought that was possible, 'cos I've heard it many times throughout the years ...

unfortunately it's not on iTunes . Only the first album and some later ones . I really would like to pick that one up to help complete my collection.

way cool. I scored that same album many years ago in almost perfect condition, for $1 at a second hand record store going out of business. It even has a plastic wrap/guard thingy around it, so the cover is in almost perfect shape.

Now if I only had a turntable :-(

Enjoy Mr. Roy!

Cheers,
Doug

I have the first 3, plus others. I like 'A Street called Straight' a lot. Later, and very funky.
