I still love my 2008 American Standard Tele

it's a few months in and i keep going back to that little monkey! they really did a bang up job with these... the fit and finish is pretty bang on. it's nice and light and kinda pretty too. i think i'll keep it! hehe..

decided to throw some lollar vintage t pickups in there for the heck of it... i'll let ya know how that goes!

how's everyone else doing with their new american standards?

Love 'em! Fender really hit it out of the park on these.

Yes, the AS 08 ash bodies seem nice, especially the first run. Some of those coming now are heavier, but the first ones are nice.

I have a standard from ca. 2002 or so. Outstanding player with great fit and finish. Looks like you got a good one there. Nice looking guitbox.

What's not to love? Well made guitars with quality components at a moderate price that should last a lifetime with care. Enjoy.

I got my 08 AMS tele in Feb for a B-day present. I was lucky to get the 2-tone sunburst with maple neck. I've got a red strat deluxe, so I'm kinda glad I didn't receive the red tele.

I played a gig the first weekend I got it, and wow, the buzz was crazy, I guess I got too used to my strat. So I started shopping.
The first thing that went in was a set of SCN noisless pickups...Buzz, was gone, and I love the sound with a Boss ME-50 and a Hotrod Deluxe.

Now on to cosmetic surgery...i replaced the white pickguard with a white pearl pickguard...so shiny...

I don't know what's next, I was thinkin a 5-way switch and adding a noiseless middle pickup.

This tele has some changes, but still feels new, and sounds great. Gotta love the American standard...And being a b-day present meant it was the best price in my budget:P

UPDATED: Added pics...Enjoy
