One of my all time favorites not yet mentioned is Mick Ronson. There's a tasteful economy to his style I've always loved. He may be more assosiated for playing that natural Les Paul Custom, but he certainly knew how to wring killer tone out of an Esquire.

Marty Balin sometimes played a Tele with Jefferson Starship in the '70's.
Graham Nash has a '52 RI with a Transperformance tuning system in it.
Bill Champlin had a vintage Tele with humbuckers that he used when he wasn't playing organ with the Sons of Champlin.
Ray Davies played a Tele with The Kinks.
John "Marmaduke" Dawson played a Tele with the New Riders of the Purple Sage.
Gram Parsons played a Tele with the Flying Burrito Brothers.

I think Leo Nocentelli played some of the Meters best stuff on a Tele (before
the Starcaster). Cropper, of course.
That's true! I saw him with the Meters, opening for the Rolling Stones, in Nice, France (1976; "Black & Blue" World Tour); He had a black tele custom for the entire set.

A big fat +1!

His technique & sound is just marvelous! (too bad only a few younger people know who he is, I think they're all screwed up by the rapcrap)

Don't hear much about him these days but he sure could play some rock and roll, man he had some great riffs. The ablums he did with ian hunter were fantastic.

Man O'man - that almost gave me a heart attack ! (Goosebumps all over and hair standing up...)

I've had the version on "Live at Fillmore" for decades, but I've actually never seen it performed before .

+1 on Joe Strummer and Pete Townshend
Graham Coxon- always throwing in interesting little bits into his playing... trying to figure out his parts is always fun.
Did Johnny Marr ever play a telecaster much?

Man, I know we are talking rhythm guitar here, but that bass line is insistent

Imagine what he'd do if his teacup was full...
