What string gauge did Gatton use?

Did he have a standard string set up or did he customize.
I guess he did customize it.
Also, is there anybody knowing anything about his pickup height?

--> Slightly customized. He swapped out the G string in a standard set of .10s to get .10 - .13. - .15 - .26 - .36 - .46. I asked him about it many years ago, and he told me it was because he liked the sound of bends using the lighter G string, i.e., he could bend a whole step (or more) and wind up right on pitch immediately, like the levers of a steel guitar.

About his pickup height, I know he kept the Bardens low enough that they didn't interfere with all the hybrid picking he did. If I speak to Joe, I'll ask him if he has any more detailed info than that. Hope this helps, CS
