Another new guy

Hey everybody,

Great forum you have here. I've been playing guitar for way too many years to be no better than I am but I love it.

I've played LP's ( is that a dirty word here) for years but always kept a Strat or 2 around. Lately I've been really wanting a Tele and ran across a parts Tele the other day that looked good so I bought it. It hasn't showed up yet so I'm really looking forward to it getting here. I don't know what it'll play or sound like so I ordered a new vintage style bridge and saddles, RS pots and caps and a set of Tonerider Hot Classics. I think I'll pick up a nice V profile neck too. It might not need any of this stuff but I figured I'd make it mine.

There's a lot of great resources on here. I've spent today just reading through post and picked up a lot of great information. Well, I'm off to the store. I had to make a deal with my dog, for every new piece of gear I get he gets a bag of bones. Man he's getting fat.

Jimmy

Welcome Bro!

What's gonna happen next is: One day you're gonna look at those parts you have left over and decide you need to build another Tele to put them on.

You'll probably have to buy a cart for your dog to use to move around lol

Don't forget to post pics when the new Tele arrives!

Well, Jimmy...there's no turning back, now. You'll be hooked. On your Tele, and hanging around with all these Tele-geeks, like myself.
It's a valuable place for advice, information and general excitement about Teles.

This is the perfect forum if your modding out a guitar. By the way, we have a rule here. You have to post pictures of the afore mentioned partscaster.

Welcome, Jimmy! Fat dog from GAS treats deal with master, eh? Hmmm...maybe smaller bones in smaller bags? Oh, yes, pics are required. You can even include the dog in it if you like.

My bad, I read 'parts' and I start dreaming of getting that last one and putting together another git. Except this new job has me so busy I have not done more than cut out a leather guard of late, and that is being at home, sick. ['home sick' for the shop that is... ]

Thanks for the welcome. I'm still waiting for the guitar and parts to show up so no pics yet.

I ordered a neck, tuners and a couple more things last night and got to thinking (dangerous, I know) why not just order a body too. So, I think I'm gonna just sell the partscaster when it get here, order a body and build one.

That is unless the partscaster is great. If thats the case I'll keep it and order a body and build one. Man, I hope the dog don't find out about this.

I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions coming up but I'm looking forward to the upgrades, or build.......
