Impulse Purchase - Nocaster Thinline
Well, I shouldn't - but I did. I considered buying new, or building one. In the end, I got won over by this Tuxedo Tele. I don't know if it will supplant my MIM Thinline 69 or not. But having played a Nocaster I sorta had to have something with that neck and pickups.
Thank god it's a Closet Classic and not new or NOS or I'd freak out about playing out with it. It's on it's way, anyway. Should just need a 5-way switch. I figure I can always move it on if needs be. ![]() See, Ebay is evil.

Those have caught my eye as well. Its probably a good thing I've never come across one in person or I would most likely pull the trigger. I have a Nocaster Relic and love it. That thinline version looks so cool its ridiculous.

you are correct. This is a beauty, but never existed in the 50s. It's a Custom Shop pipe dream. And a nice one i might add.

Hi,
recently I had the chance to play a Nocaster Thinline. Very nice guitar. Lightweight and very resonant. However the neck on the one I played was not like the neck on my (regular) Nocaster. The neck of the thinline had a v-shape and was not as fat as the neck of my Nocaster (maybe otherwisit it might be neck-heavy). Greetings, Klaus |

That's a great looking guitar. I am more than happy with my 50's classic tele, though if I was going to get another guitar it would be that one!
Nice choice.
