Tele "Medalion" parts guitar
Hey, I have a Tele I bought a few years back and would like to find out more information on it.
![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see, there is no Fender logo, just the medalion on the back of the neck and body. It says "Original Fender Neck" and Original Fender Body" and seems to be made of alluminum. It has an allparts guard and the pickups are an american standard set I put in. It used to have a brass bottom neck pickup in it but it was pretty lifeless sounding for what looked like an older Fender unit. If anyone knows about when Fender was making parts like these, please give me the info. |

Can't tell you exactly when these were last sold but I seem to recall they stopped selling them just a few years ago. Remember reading that the necks came in a purple velvet bag. I thought they also came with a Fender decal. I do recall they were very expensive.

Yep .............That's what I'm saying.
I did find this warranty for the Fender replacement necks/bodies. It's dated September 2001. http://www.fender.com/support/pdfs/F..._YEAR64CE2.pdf |

Yeah, I figured that it was a parts guitar but it is way cool and everyone that has played it has commented about how comfy the neck is. The body has a very thin home despot furniture finish and the neck seems to be toung oiled. Overall it is one of my all time favorites for feel. I am thinking about getting some new pick ups though. Thanks for the input jwells!

They had a few at a (now defunct) Music-Go-Round, maybe four years ago.. New old stock in the velvet bags. I thought they looked like good necks, but overpriced.
