Dalmore is completed! Ron sent me these pictures last night.
Quote from Ron's email today: "The harmonics are stunning... it's quite like listening to a Samick piano, then hearing a Steinway D, both are recognizable as a Piano. but holy schidt....what a difference. I don't know if it's the chimemaster, or everything just coming together like it should... Some are just fun to play, and this Dal is a beauty." Oh yeah! ![]() ![]() I will post hi res pics on Wednesday. |

I drove past the Dalmore distillery this afternoon and it made me think of this guitar. I wonder if I'm the first who looked at the distillery and thought "that reminds me on Arlo's Telecaster". Somehow, I think I am.

Ron's correct we can't forget Vince here he made almost all of the hardware except the Chimemaster that came from Dale at Glendale. Now let's see if we can get Dalmore to do an ad campaign featuring the Dalmore Tele sitting on and old oak cask with a bottle of Dalmore! Wednesday I will take a bunch of pictures and post them. Had to get one of these to put it in: ![]() |

Oh, if you want your guitar with a photo of the distillery behind it, send it to me and you will have the photo within 24 hours, the guitar might take considerably longer to return though.

Ron, I would really love some more of the particulars on how you discovered those silicone spacers on the vintage style trems. I've never seen 'em used anywhere else, and I would like more specific info on what it adds to the build.
Not trying to criticize, I am just an information hound, and I want to know. |

Actually is was so very long ago I can't recall who introduced it to me.... simply put... the upward pressure tends to stabilize the tremolo... greatly reducing the tuning problems during dive bombs. I do recall back in the 80's during the Shredder craze, taking a Strat complete with the Floyd Rose and locking nut... etc... and comparing it to several done with the silicone.. Try it, you'll like it...... Ron Kirn

Thanks, Ron. Now, I may have to go buy my old Strat back...
Actually, I'm going to be putting my Kramer Tele, complete with Floyd, together pretty soon. Might be a while, but at least I'll have something to compare it to. |

Man o man - Ron you do some really beautiful work !
Arlo, You must be like a child again waiting in anticipation for Christmas to come in two days...I know that I would be wound up tighter than an 8 day clock waiting for the postman to show up with this baby ! Watching you rip the packaging off and opening that case would be second only to the look on your face as you started to play it.....Enjoy that feeling ! Scotland - I would be getting me a designated driver If I would be you ....... |

I can just picture playing that out on the porch while sipping a fine single malt. And chasing it with Dewars and cola! |
