Before and After of my MIM FSR Ash Standard
I posted a few days ago about a used MIM FSR Ash Standard Tele that I bought recently. I've done a few mods and here's a couple of before and after shots.
The mods so far include Wilkinson vintage-style tuners and compensated three-saddle bridge and a single layer black pickguard. Soon, I'll be dropping in a set of Fender OV '52 pickups, but they won't markedly change the appearance, so here's what it will look like when it's done. I'm still contemplating a five-hole 50's black pickguard, but don't mind the eight-hole guard with black screws. Before: ![]() After: ![]() And, finally, here's a picture of the guitar sans pickguard and bridge. I still think this looks like a Classic 50's body: ![]() I got the chance to weigh it on a more accurate scale yesterday while all the parts were separate and it weighs a couple ounces under 7 lbs. I think I'll be happy with this one for a long time to come. Cassady |
