Selling my Tele...
Due to circumstances, I must sell my tele. I have decided to post it here first before going to ebay. I would rather it go to someone who would really appreciate it.
I do have 2,384 feedback, 100% positive rating on ebay. Thanks. Last edited by meenahga; February 21st, 2009 at 09:13 AM. Reason: posting successful |

no idea, but it would be great if you sold it here instead of ebay. at least that way you know where it went, and could keep in touch w/ the buyer. man i would love to have that fiddle. but i got laid off a couple months ago and really shouldnt be buying anything. Dang that sucks
you could probably get more from ebay though, then again maybe not |

I'm not interested....now if it had a top hat switch knob.......
seriously, The fact that you've got Red's red guitar rocks..... Things happen and it's a wise man who does what he needs to do.....I'm sorry for you that you have to let something go that is valuable to you, but we have to do what is important at times....even if it isn't what we want to do...good luck. now, how much are you asking? Pete.... |

Red's Tele has been sold to a kind, talented musician and forum member, who will give it the love and attention it so deserves. The mojo has been passed on...
Thanks everyone for your comments, answers, and advice. Great place here at the Telecaster Forum. (Pay It Forward) Best Regards, John |

in this market - if I see one red flag I'm doing an about face - I'm done with the days of thinking awwwhhhh...just maybe this guy does not know what he has and I'm going to get the better end of the deal - only to learn on its arrival that
i got took took the cleaners - and getting money back or partial refunds turns into lost hopes.. so If I see one red flag these days - I'm running the other way - not walking - every time I thought I was going to get the one under the bed from the old farmer who knew nothing about what he had - turns out he knew what he had and just how to market it to a dummy like me and get totally away with ripping me off and keeping my cash$$$ from know on I'll only buy from guys that know every detail and teach me a few things I did not know - I'll never buy from the guy who says hes selling it for a friend and knows nothing about guitars or that he bought it in a Estate sale and is selling it and his friend that plays says it plays good and is nice etc...etc... I just bought 11 40 year old acoustic for my collection and every time I heard one of those story's - the guitar sure enough had MAJOR ISSUES and there was no recourse thru ebay or paypal because the guys know what there doing and how to dump these things onto eager beavers after deals "like my stupid self!" and run away with your cash - some are so smart mouth after the deal that they bad mouth you on top of the ripping! hehe Glad this deal worked out and the guitar was legit. |

So I am the new owner of Red's guitar. We talked at length, and meenahga told me that he'd really decided it was time to sell this guitar (and believe me I told him that he should try to hold on to it!). I went on a 12 hour road trip to check it out (round trip, a full day really), and I'm glad I did. Honestly I feel a little guilty, but I know I did the right thing. Meenahga is a really genuine wonderful guy, and I appreciate so much his own understanding of these silly guitars, and research, and story, and all the stuff that goes into this. Anyway, as he said, "we don't own these guitars, we're merely their caretakers". It's probably impossible to say what this guitar really is, but it has a really unique sound and voice, extremely telecaster-like, but also very different from any other I've ever played. To be honest, I'm pretty ecstatic, and just trying to pretend like I'm cool calm and collected! In the meantime, I'm playing up a storm. And someday, this guitar will go to somebody else who'll do the same.
btw - I'll have to sell some other fun things now, which will go up in the classifieds here, once I get my act together. lastly - if meenahga and/or Red do ever wanna jam, I'll make the trip again anytime! |
