What do you charge

What do you charge a pirate to pierce his ears for earings?

A buck an ear

From seller's description:
Quote:
The back is a very impressive double-image. It is a Pirate Ship inside of a Caribbean map (the map reads upside down).
With "Hispaniola" spelled incorrectly. Oops, go back and do it again!

Reminds me of when I got a wood-burning set for Christmas when I was 12...

Really not much worst than some of the "Artsy" Crap the Fender Custom Shop makes...where they Doll-up a $200 Amp...paste stickers on a Tele...and try to sell the set for $20,000.00....course that's just my opinion...YMMV

I think it has it's place. It's art and wood is the canvas. Not art that I would buy, but somebody will. I could definitely see Keef playing a guitar like that.

If that was done with a woodburner, there's a hell of a lot of labor there. I should know ... my grandpa bought me a woodburning kit for Christmas in 1975.

Actually, I rather like it- especially the skull and bones on the top. I changed out the neck plate on my Hw1 Tele to a skull & crossbones engraved jobbie, and put the "pirate" q-parts knobs on mine, but it's all reverseable. No way I'm taking a woodburner to it!

It had to happen, ever since Keith Richards played a pirate in the last Pirates movie. And Keith is one of the gods of the Telecaster and a true pirate at heart. Hence the Pirate Tele.
Inevitable really.

Yeah, i like it too, it has to be better than 90% of the junk that you see on eBay, the usual "this is a keeper", found under the bed type bull.

Would i buy one ? ------ err, no.

It may not necessarily be the theme that I personally would want to have on a guitar of mine, but there's some definite skill in it. It's very well done. Wonder what other themes he might tackle...

I don't mind that guitar at all.
Nautical star is incredible.

The only part I don't like is the back of the headstock.

I actually like it...

I'm not big on carved/stickered bodies, but this looks pretty cool to me and I'm not into pirates!

It's a partscaster, only issue I have is with the headstock having Fender woodburned into it and no info available on the back of the headstock (serial number). So, you'd have to take the sellers' word for what it's made of.

I'll probably watch the auction to see if his reserve is met.
