G'day cobbers!

G'day all.

I thought it was about time I stopped lurking and introduced myself and my tele. I've been playing guitar since I was 13, I'm now 46, but I feel I have a long way to go.

I guess you would say I've always been a classic rock kinda-guy when it comes to playing music. I like lots of different styles of music, but not gansta-rap or death-metal. I'm even beginning to appreciate country music. (I guess it helps that my wife comes from Tamworth, the counrty music capital of Australia).

I've been playing bass guitar in covers bands here in Sydney on and off since the late 80's. I also alternate between bass and accoustic duties most Sundays at our church. One day I've love to strap on a 6 string and play live. Who knows it may even happen!

Anyway last year I said to myself, "self" I said, "Don't you think you deserve to own one really good electric guitar in your life?" Of course everyone knows the answer to that question, so I present to you my American Deluxe Ash Telecaster...

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome to TPDRI. I hope to stick around a while, learn a few things, and give some back.

I've use a MusicMan 210 Seventy-five which I've owned since new in the early 80's.

My bass guitar is a MusicMan Stingray5 ('91 ErnieBall, but still influenced by The Man), so I guess you can see I'm a bit of a Leo man

VB gives me a screaming headache so I avoid it like the plague. Carlton Draught and Cascade are two mighty fine beers but I prefer these...

An old friend came over from London and was working at a pub in the Corso at Manly. She wasn't familiar with the beer brands.

This guy come up to the bar and asks, "Do you sell pills?"
She pulls a weird face and says, "No!?"
"Okay, I'll have a VB."

So she's seriously wondering if there used to be a girl working here who looked like her and was a drug dealer because one in every ten customers would ask her for pills!

Then a few hours later, the original guy comes up to the bar again and looks closely down at the fridge behind the bar and says, "Hey! You do sell Pils!"
