How is the American Deluxe Series?

Im looking into an American Deluxe Series Telecaster-Aged Cherry with Rosewood neck. its backordered for a month or so. While i wait and save money i was hoping to get some feedback. When it says aged, whats actually aged on the guitar? body? neck? the specs said aged plastic parts? thanks

The one's I've checked out have all been really nice. As for aged, I believe that's just the name of the color, there isn't any relicing or anything.

I own one, same color as the one you want but with a maple neck. This is my first go to guitar. I love the thing. Highly recommended What else can I say?

Where have you ordered it? It seems to me that this should be readily available at this point. I had a long search to find one in 2005.

The only thing aged on it is the color and that's a description. not a fact.

Im getting it from American Musical.com, great website, they dont usally have alot of different fenders, so it takes them a while to get a new guitar so they just started selling the deluxe but im going with them because they will break the price down into 5 payments which is big for me. The one with the rosewood is due in a lil while, the maple neck is in stck but i want rosedwood

I think they're fine guitars, but in that price range I prefer the AV series models for sound and feel. All personal preference of course.

I've owned an "aged" cherry burst with the maple neck for 4 years now. I still love it! A minor step up in fit and finish over the standards and a big step up in fit and finish over the MIM's.

As far as "aged" goes, that only applies to the pick guard which is an "aged" creamy white rather than a bright white.

I think deluxes are fantastic. They dont have a vintage sound, neck, or bridge, but they are still killer telecasters. Put together wonderfully, and the tummy cut adds a sleek sexy feel to the guitar. When you buy the deluxes you are getting a prettier guitar than the standard telecaster. They also pay more attention to fit and finish. If you dig the sound of them, they make wonderful guitars. I want one in candy tangerine.

Can I ask why you're bothering to wait for AMS? I've ordered thru them and about a dozen other sellers - they are all pretty much the same. Wildwood has two of those guitars in stock and you can see the actual instrument and it's weight.

If you like the sound of the SCN pickups (I do), you can't go wrong with an American Deluxe. Beautiful guitars with outstanding fit & finish.

Im waiting just because money is tight, i cant afford it straight out but AMS is offering it on 5 payments, that how i got my 52AVRI a few months ago

Shelby, You are making a very good choice. I have loved mine since the day I picked it up. I got mine at a Guitar Center in Nashua New Hampshire. I had ordered from Musician's Friend probably starting 2004 but they could never deliver. I looked everywhere but could not find it in stock. Then a guy I play with told me tha he had played one at a guitar center. This was now May of 2005. I called the one in New Hampshire and they had just one. I went I played, it conquered. Enjoy when you get it. Good luck.

I had an ash american deluxe in butterscotch blonde, nice guitar though heavy. I thought the finish was a little orange and thick for my tastes. I ended up selling it. Really nice tone, the noiseless pick-ups are really nice and the S-1 switching is cool.

I too have a Candy Tangerine American Deluxe...it gets gigged and played quite a big. It's one of my favorites and anyone who doubts the Candy Tangerine finish needs to see one in person....it's stunning.

I love the feel of the guitar and the SCN pickups aren't bad...however I keep telling myself I'm put in Lollars or Fralins, but once mixed in the band, everything sounds just fine.

I have one from back when they had the Fishman powerbridge in them. It's a great guitar. I have to make myself play anything else. The fretwork and the neck are just perfect, and the body cut is nice as well.

I've told this story before, but a bunch ole Fender amp hogs were listening to my SCN pups through a vintage BF Super Reverb, and all they could talk about was that "classic Tele sound". It still makes me grin, because the bridge and the SCN pups are anything but classic Tele. Yet, this guitar will get you in that neighborhood - and a lot of others.

Great guitars. Period.

To answer Shelby's question generally; there's nothing funky or crapped out about anything on the American Deluxe.

This is your "telecaster dressed to go to a wedding" type of guitar, more or less the opposite of this unfortunate acid washed "Joe Strummer Brand" offering as of late.

You will be expected to play it purty, now.

i have a ash dlx butterscotch blonde (i think 2006) - a little bit heavy, but i like it very, very much, but i change to bardens now - i have the pups but unfortunatly no time to built in - maybe next week
