Thinskins, Hotrods get a case upgrade, too?
I've noticed in pictures posted recently by owners of ThinSkin models, Tele and Strat, as well as the 52RI HotRod tele, that the tweed case they sport has a 'crushed velvet' looking red interior. Pictures I see of the regular 52RI tweed case have the familiar orange hairy stuff inside. Maybe all the pics I'm seeing of the regular 52RI are old? Or maybe the ThinSkin and AV HotRod guitars are getting an upgraded G&G? Anyone?

Interesting. Here's an example of what I'm talking about, from our own classifieds right now (sized down a bit) ..
![]() Anyway, this is not the only AV HotRod or ThinSkin I've seen with this case interior. It hardly matters .. if I buy an AV52RI the case will likely go in the closet and 99% of the time I'll be using one of those hybrid hardfoam gigbags. But just wondering if there's some system behind which models get the fancy red caseguts. |
