New here, first tele, identify color?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to Telecasters. I just traded my MIM Strat (Clapton black and white) for a blue MIM tele. It was an even trade, although I feel I got the better deal!!!

Can anyone identify the color of this guitar? It is a baby blue color, made in 2003... I'm not sure that it's very "manly" but it sure did call to me. It just seemed like a very nice looking guitar and doesn't have a scratch on it!. Oh, and the sound and setup are awesome!!!

Todd

What color is this?

Welcome aboard!

I suppose you won't be satisfied if I just say "blue"?

Looks to me to be too light for Lake Placid Blue.

It is metallic, right?

I think now they call it Ice Blue Metallic but I don't know if that's what it was in 2003. It may be LPB. Hard to tell exactly.

Have a look.

According to the 2003 Frontline catalog Blue Agave was used on 2003 MIM Standards.

I have this metalic blue 95 MIM Telecaster. I say it's Blue Agave but others in a previous thread say it's not. However they couldn't tell me what it is. Here it is alongside Lake Placid Blue.

......

Here it is under natural light. So ........... what color is it?

Blue Agave. Awesome color. I think I'm pretty sure that 2003 was the last year for the color. If it wasn't, 2004 was. Either way, the color never exactly "took off" but I have a funny feeling that all of these short-run colors catch another generation's fancy down the line. A lot of people want Capri Orange, but I think I might see 5 a year on eBay.

yup - yours is def. Blue Agave and a very nice color - which seems similar to a darker shade Ice Blue metallic in some ways......remember Jack's previous thread about his 95 MIM - don't what color it is but still doesn't look like any Agave I've ever seen -sure is mighty pretty, though.
