What case accessories come with the AV '52 RI?
When I brought my recently purchased '52 RI home the other day, I noticed the certificate was not in the case or box. I notified the dealer who asked for the serial # and I presume they will obatain a replacement. But looking at the case contents and thinking back to my last '52 RI I recalled my last '52 came with an amp cable, in addition to the modern wiring kit and ashtray cover and various booklets and warrany card.
Did Fender stop putting the amp cables in the case, or is it possible since my Certificate was missing that other things are missing as well? I'll note that I believe the box was taped closed, not stapled as they seem to come from Fender. This leads me to beleive it had been opened and taped closed again and possibly these were taken out of the case at some point and not put back in? Anyway, what items should be present in the case with a new '52 RI these days? Thanks.

Yep. I'm just trying to get a definitive answer on what Fender actually puts in the case from the factory so I can properly address it with the dealer. I don't want to be asking for items that don't actually come with the guitar, but I thought they at least put a Certificate and a guitar/amp cable along with the ash tray cover / modern wiring kit and booklet/warranty in there as I recall my other '52 had. But that was a number of years ago, so I just want to make sure nothing has changed from Fender before I go back to the dealer.

I have an early AV52ri and from memory it came with a sealed bag that included :-
Vintage strap, 6 barrel bridge (inc. allen key), 'modern' wiring kit, guitar cord (silvergrey, short plugs), users manual, yellow polish cloth, ash tray cover, Fender bumper sticker, certificate of 'authenticity' and a small yellow envelope with the keys to the tweed case. Best to check though, things change over 26 years !

No strap, no cable, no certificate, no cloth, no six barrell bridge, no allen key, etc... I guess I'll head back to the dealer.

I figured I give a call over to the dealer beofre driving over. Good news. They have my case candy there. Apparently it was taken out for whatever reason placed on a storage shelf and they forgot to put it back in. He even said they had put my name on it with a note to call, but I guess I beat them to the phone. He did say they didn't know about the certificate and would get back to me tomorrow when they can call Fender. He too thought they came with one.
Zeeman, if what you say turns out to be right that would explain why there is no certificate there. Thanks for all of the replies guys!

COA stopped in July 2006. It was a throwback to when this was the first 'reissue' production off-the-rack guitar in 1986 and prior to the 'real' Custom Shop process of unique ordering, so it was pretty silly to keep it.
The modern wiring kit should also include 1 meg pots. No great loss IMO. i would stick with the .05 cap and 250K pots, just flip the two wires.

COA
Certificate of Authenticity I've got two with mine. Have the 1 meg pot. Had it installed not long after getting my tele. When the tech did it he also changed the tone for one of those no-load delta tone pots. Got that changed back and have just recently gone back to the 250k volume. |

Everything is now 100% accounted for. The dealer confirmed no more certificates with new '52's as others have confirmed above.
As for the wiring kit, I prefer the vintage set-up that is installed at the factory, so I'll leave the modern off.
