Isn't this really THE great Tele look? I've always been a huge fan of the iconic look of a blackguard, but your new Tele is my favorite look by a big margin. People can keep their bursts and flame and quilt. THIS is the sexiest look in the world!
I just love it. Congratulations!

To me, THE tele look is Dark honey shellac over a natural highly grained body, blackguard, and a vintage bridge with three brass saddles... front pup optional as I'm more inclined towards Esquires.
But this is a BEAUTIFUL guitar! I'd spank 'er!! |

Thanks Guys!
You're right rhinocaster, as much as I love my LP's and 335's I've come to find Tele's the most beautiful of them all. Fancy doesn't equal pretty to me. I have a Dave's '52 Relic that is the same. I forgot to mention that the neck is also a 9.5" radius with med. jumbo frets. |

Oh yeah, the saddles shown in the pic are not what I'm getting.
Fender shipped it with those shown but sent the brass saddles afterwards and that's what's on there now. Wardpike, My '52 Relic is a lot like you describe and I love it. Funny thing is that I could have gotten another grained almost exactly like the '52 but this kept getting my attention. It was a tough call as the body in my '52 is great so I'll see. |

Nice Tele, bluesjuke. Mebbe this is the weakness in a stock Desert Sand Baja. You are always reminded that yer Baja should look just like this.

Well it's 3:30 AM and I just got in from work.
It came a couple of hours after I went to worl. Plays very smooth ,the neck is perfect, and it's light. Three things I don't like; The neck poscket while not too bad is not that tight- a small gap on each side. The neck pickup is installed at a 15% foward angle. The finish kind of looks like a Gibson VOS finish instead of the nice sunk into the grain finish that my '52 Relic has. Like I said, it plays great but I'm not sure if I going to hang on to it. It's also has a very rounded router hump unlike the smaller one on my '52 Relic. Last edited by bluesjuke : May 8th, 2008 at 05:23 AM. |

I was going to get one like this, but last October at the Arlington Guitar Show I saw a 54 in Sunburst at Dave's Booth. Same Guitar except for the finish. Feels wonderful, sounds great.
