TDPRI Tone Overhaul!!

Ok y'all...last week I mentioned that I was hunting down a good compressor pedal.

The suggestions came POURING in (thanks everybody) and I decided, after much thought, to go with the BOSS CS-2, rather than my runner up...the Keeley.

Instead, I took the balance I saved and also grabbed myself a Fulltone Fulldrive 2.

OK...so my little studio setup has become:

"Z" Esquire or '52 RI > CS-2/Fulldrive 2 (CS-2 Sounds AMAZING when the Fulldrive is off...the clean tone is SCARY) > Fender Blues Junior with Jensen C12N (Woah! What a difference that mod made).

I'll tell you, for a low power/studio setup, I am in Tone Heaven!! I highly recommend one or all of those parts!

And thanks to you, the TDPRI members for all your suggestions!!

BOSS BD2 Blues driver

The only effect I use is a Boss BD2 bluesdriver. Its a very nice "soft" overdrive but expensive.

I had an OS-2...

...in my live rig. Very underrated and smooth overdrive.

Route 66!

My Visual Sound Route 66 came yesterday (on my day off -- how lucky is that?) and I'm already in love with it. The compressor is subtle, yet adds sustain and makes the combo pickup settings even more "glassy" -- if you like that (and I do).

The overdrive will give you some grit, but thanks to the excellent tone control, doesn't get muddy or "too think," like my Snarling Dogs Tweed-E-Dog tends to. Add to that the bass boost in the OD and I got my "tone overhaul" done for $94!
