Callaham tele parts

In an effort to put off building anymore guitars I don't really need, I'm toying with upgrading parts on some of my existing homebrews. While I'm as much of a sucker for pretty parts as the next guy, I'd really only do this if I could improve performance. I'm thinking of replaceing a Fender six barrel bridge ( I know , I know) with a three barrel brass Callaham unit. Then I'd go for the dome knobs ($$$ ouch) and probably the control plate to match. Is the bridge stainless steel? How would this effect the bridge PU ? Anybody done this ?

Well, sort of...

...but I went the Vintique route.

The Callaham bridge isn't stainless and therefore acts like a "normal" bridge, but they look very good quality.

If you're not in a hurry, then wait to see what TDPRI-er Brian Poe produces, as we've been htaching a plan on Webers board to reproduce the early Broadcaster knobs. Follow this link:

I don't know what the price will be but it might be less of an "ouch" than the Callaham or Vintique knobs.

By the way, if you do go the Callaham bridge route (or anyone else for that matter, let me know and you can order some of his screws for me. The minimum order thing makes it impractical for me!

Hope this helps.
